About the Author:
B. Nandi Jacob-Stephenson was born in England to parents from Point Fortin,
Trinidad & Tobago. Like many children of the Windrush Generation, she was
mailed backwards over the Atlantic Ocean to an aunt in Trinidad which informs
her study and career choices. Nandi works mostly in Caribbean and immigrant
spaces. She is a journalist, playwright, director, and teaching artist currently
residing in the United States. Nandi's plays have been performed and
anthologized. Her essays have been published in peer review journals. She has
presented at several conferences including the National Black Writers
Conference, and Brooklyn Root’s Festival. Her play Flambeaux was the first
Caribbean play to sweep the Audelco Awards including the accolade "Musical
Production of the Year." Nandi is the author of author of "The True Nanny
Diaries” and editor of “The Progress for Winsford Devine: A Collection of
Caribbean Lyrics.”
